What is this?
This app was inspired from my previous project "JOOMLA PLUGIN - Contact Puzzle" which i took bits of the fun puzzle feature into social interactive app. Just like the "Contact Puzzle" that hides email/contact asset until user solved it this app also does the same thing but you can add customizable hidden messages and links until the receiving end user/solver solve the problem by completing the puzzle. The puzzle solving interaction is easy to use for any visitor/user to the app, has customizable grid tiles and puzzle style for more challenging experience and rewards user through scoreboard where multiple end user/solver can compete with each other....i can say app created through accidental discovery...sweet!
To sum up this "Secret Puzzle" web app is a free, interactive web application that lets you hide a secret text message inside a photo, scramble that photo into a puzzle, and send it to anyone via a simple link. The catch? The recipient cannot see the full photo or read your hidden message until they successfully solve the puzzle! It’s perfect for surprise announcements, birthday wishes, digital escape rooms, or just sending a fun challenge to a friend.
Key Features
- Two Puzzle Modes:
- Slide: The traditional puzzle with one empty square. You must slide pieces into the empty space to arrange the image.
- Drag & Swap: A more modern, mobile-friendly mode where you can drag any tile and swap it with another.
- Custom Difficulty: Choose grid sizes ranging from an easy 3x3 up to a diabolical 8x8.
- Smart Hidden Messages: Your hidden text can include website links! If you type a URL (like a link to a gift, a video, or a Zoom meeting), it will automatically become a clickable link when the player wins.
- Global Leaderboards: Every puzzle has its own "Top Solvers" leaderboard. See which of your friends can solve your puzzle in the fewest amount of moves!
- Native Sharing & QR Codes: Instantly share your puzzle to WhatsApp, Telegram, X (Twitter), or Facebook. Playing in person? Let your friend scan the auto-generated QR code right from your screen.
- Cross-Platform: Works flawlessly on iPhones, Androids, Macs, and PCs without downloading any apps.
How to use?
Creating a puzzle takes less than 30 seconds. No account required!
- Upload a Photo: Tap the image box to select a photo from your device. You can pinch to zoom and drag to crop it into a perfect square.
- Type your Message: Enter the secret note you want to hide (up to 100 characters).
- Choose Difficulty & Type: Use the slider to pick a grid size (3x3 is standard, 5x5 and above is very hard) and choose either "Drag & Swap" or "Slide" mode.
- Create & Share: Tap "Create Puzzle Link". You will be taken to a success screen with a unique link.
- Send it off! Copy the link, use the social share buttons, or let someone scan the QR Code. You can even preview your own puzzle and use the "Auto-Solve" wand to see exactly what your friends will experience.
Privacy & Security
We take your privacy seriously. Because you are uploading personal photos, we built Secret Puzzle with strict safety measures:
- EXIF Data Stripping: Before your photo is ever uploaded to our servers, our app automatically wipes hidden camera data (like exact GPS location coordinates). Your privacy is protected by design.
- 48-Hour Auto-Delete: Puzzles are not meant to live on the internet forever. Exactly 48 hours after a puzzle is created, our automated systems permanently delete the image, the message, and the leaderboard from our servers.
- Safe Links: We sanitize all text to ensure malicious code cannot be injected into the leaderboards or hidden messages.
